Assign a Recall Type to a Patient

Let's say you need to follow up with one (or several) of your Patients for an additional appointment that might be happening three months down the road. When they come in for their initial assessment, it could be a bit too early to schedule them at three months out! This is where Recall Types come in.

Cliniko will allow you to create your own Recall Types (as many as you need!) and assign them to any of your Patients. This makes recalling people easy, as you'll simply need to run a Recalls Report in order to see who needs to be recalled -- for what, and when! Follow the instructions below for assigning Recall Types to your Patients.

Assign a Recall Type to a Patient

  1. First, be sure that you've created a Recall Type
  2. Then, select a Patient
  3. Click on Recalls
  4. Click the Add recall button
  5. Select the Recall Type from the drop-down menu, and add a note if applicable

    Recall Types have a default timeframe, and the date will default to a day based on that (for example, in 3 months time). However, you can customize the date by using the datepicker under "Recall at" if you'd like!

  6. Once you've selected the Recall Type and associated date (and added any notes), click the Create recall button

  7. Look for the green success message to indicate that the Recall for this Patient has been successfully added

You can add as many Recalls as you need for each Patient. When it comes time to actually do the recalling, the next step will be to run a Recall Report. Click here to learn how to run a Recall Report and monitor the status of your Recalled Patients!

Mark a Patient as Recalled

Finally, whenever you Recall your patients, you can mark them as such. This can be done on the Recalls Report itself, or within the Patient's details page (under Recalls). Just tick the box next to the Recall, like this:


Once marked as Recalled, the date and initial of the user who did the Recall will appear.
