Can I Import My Data From ...?

We have a lot of clinics coming from a lot of different Practice Management Systems (PMS) who would love to use Cliniko. Switching systems is a scary process that we want to make as easy as possible!  

What can I import?

In Cliniko you'll find tools to import:

  • Patients
  • Contacts (article coming soon!)
  • Products (article coming soon!)
  • Billable items (article coming soon!)

All imports require a CSV file (short for Comma Separated Values). The order of information in the file doesn't matter, though you'll need to have headings on each column so you can match up the data. If your file doesn't have a heading, feel free to add a row and type "First Name", "Email Address" and whatever else you like at the top of each column.

Each system has a different way of exporting data, but we've put together a few guides to help you figure things out!

Many systems export to an Excel file. You can easily convert an Excel file to a CSV by opening it in Excel, then selecting "Save as..." and choosing the file type ".CSV"

What can't I import?

You won't be able to import Treatment Notes, Appointments, or Invoices. However, if you have separate files for Treatment Notes, you can quickly drag and drop files into your patients' profiles to keep the previous patient history as a file attachment.
