Xero integration improvements and bug fixes

Thanks for all the feedback! We have just released a few improvements and bug fixes:

  • We now sync patient's address and phone numbers.
  • Patients with invalid e-mail addresses were halting the invoice sync, we now won't try to sync this patient email if we notice it's invalid.
  • Invoices that had one item with more than 1 unit were not syncing properly, this has been fixed (thanks Trevor!).

    One thing that is missing from Cliniko invoices has been discounts.  I have been using a product for a discount and placing a negative quantity value (-1) to reduce the price so it would show up on the patient's invoice.  I have been moving over invoices manually by clicking Edit > Update invoice but one of them with this 'discount product' is not moving correctly - is this a bug?

    thanks for reporting this problem, I'll need your help with this okay?

    We know discounts is missing and we have plans to work on it but, back to the problem, xero does not support negative quantities, but they support negative prices. When syncing negative quantities we could multiply by -1 the quantity and price on xero, would this work?

    Invoice on Cliniko:

    Quantity: -1

    Price: $20

    Invoice on Xero:

    Quantity: 1

    Price: $-20

    I believe Xero actually supports discounts in their invoices.

    For the time being, so as to not mix up the features, I believe this will work.

    When you guys are working on discounts in Cliniko native invoices, please factor in the need for discounts on GST and GST-free items!

    Bruno, I was experimenting with integration again, but will not implement until payment sync is an option. 

    I made an invoice in cliniko and got an oops message re invalid email address.  This patient is handicapped and has more than one email address in their patient details.  This seemed to be stoping the sync.  I reduced it to one email and it successfuly synched.  I though it still synced to Xero if the email is invalid.  This does not include multiple valid emails ??  Can you investigate and let me know as we have a number of patients who want the email sent to them at work AND at home and this will create a problem for us.  !!.

    Could you open a ticket and give me more information about your problem?

    I might have missed it but I couldn't add multiple emails to a Xero contact (through the Xero website). :(

    Bruno, thanks for getting back to me.  I do not need to have multiple emails in Xero, the first email is good enough.  But I get an integration error from cliniko/xero when there is more than one email in cliniko.  Having multiple emails in cliniko is great and that is where i want it, having only the first email, or no emails in xero would be good.  But I do not want to reduce the cliniko information to a single email just so it sychs into Xero.  Anything to be done ???

    Hi Terry,

    I'll be discussing this with the team today as the e-mail field is supposed to be used for only one e-mail, but from what I understood you are using that for multiple e-mails. So, we need to discuss what would be the best solution.

    But nothing to worry here, if we either add more e-mail fields to Cliniko or continue to allow multiple e-mails on the e-mail field, we will correctly sync one e-mail to Xero. I'd first work on the payment sync and then work on this, would that work for you?

    Bruno, that is fantastic.  No issue with it taking a hort while, I too am looking forward to the payment sync.  I have entered some information on that forum as well regarding this, I hope you saw this......
