New invoice icon on appointments and more international currencies

We have changed the icon that displays on calendar appointments to show if the appointment has been invoiced or not.  Previously it showed a $ symbol, but this wasn't really suitable for all our customers (many don't use $).  We have now made it a more generic and appropriate symbol, it is just paper money.  It is green if the invoice is paid and red if not.  It looks like this:

We also added a couple more currencies for our international customers:

  • Thai Baht is now shown if you are in Thailand
  • Nigerian Naira is now shown if you are in Nigeria
Also, welcome to our new customers in those countries!

Wasn't sure what this was this morning!  We find that it looks an awful lot like the icons for arrived and did not arrive, and the green is hard to see when it is beside the checkmark for the email reminder being sent.  I am playing around with the color of our appointments to make this more visible, but we really prefer the black color for paid, as it really stood out, so we could know at a quick glance.  Red for unpaid is still okay...

Have to agree with Donna, not liking this new feature. We can't see it at a glance. Please can we change the "generic" symbol to something in black? I have so many different coloured appointments and none of them are showing this symbol very well. Perhaps we can choose the symbol or icon ourselves in the settings depending on our region?

    Thanks guys :)

I will get it changed to black in the next few hours. Sorry!   I know the $ looked good, but we had no way to show different ones based on region and needed to find something generic.  If the black doesn't fix it we will keep trying.

I have to agree with Donna, not very happy with the new new invoice paid icon. The $ sign is also a universal sign, not just a currency sign (no one on planet earth will get confused with what a $ sign stands for). I say bring back the black/red $ sign, it is far more defining and distinguishable than any other sign that any designer could possibly come up with...... but hey that's just what I think.

That change is live now, the icon is black.  You will need to refresh your appointments page to see it.

Still pretty hard to see.....You could see the black/red dollar sign from a mile, this new change is not helpful.....

We will try make the colors stronger, they are a little pale.  I am sure we will find a good result with it.

Okay, I have made the colors stronger.  They should now standout like they did before.  It looks like this:

It's not live yet, I will push it out shortly.

Obviously we didn't get this one right first try.  We really appreciate the feedback though and are definitely listening.

I have to agree with Jonathan, isn't the $ sign a universal one?

Inviting comment from users who don't use a $ sign as your currency - was this a problem in the past? I see your reasoning Joel, I'm just not sure the change was necessary!

It was from quite a few requests that we did it.  It wasn't just us being proactive or politically correct.  I am pushing out the color change now, please let me know what you think once you see it.  It will be live in about 2 minutes, you will just need to refresh your page to see it.

Colours are definitely easier to see.

Colors are definitely easier to see.  The black really does pop.  We still prefer the $, but we understand the change and what we truly appreciate the most is how promptly you listen and act.  Customer service is once again, overwhelmingly spectacular!  Thanks, and have a marvelous day!

It might seem trivial, however I still think we have taken a self-explanatory symbol and created a new symbol that any NEW person using cliniko will have to ask what it is. One of the best assets of cliniko is its intuitive common sense user friendly ability - this symbol change has not moved us closer to this ideal, but quite the opposite. Just want cliniko to be the best it can be :) Thanks for the opportunity to express my opinion.
