You can now store Contacts in Cliniko

We just added a new feature called "Contacts" to Cliniko.  You'll find this under a new tab that is very creatively called "Contacts".

This is a place to store information about contacts that are not patients.  This might be doctors, other practitioners or suppliers.

At this stage contacts is just a place to store this information, next we will start to integrate Contacts throughout the software.  The first place we'll integrate contacts is into the new Letters feature that is coming soon.  We didn't want to hold off releasing this until then though, we know many of you will get use out of it just like this.

It's easy to add your first contact, just go to the contacts page and click the big "Add Contact" button.

Receptionists, Practitioners and Administrators can view, add and edit contacts.  Only administrators can delete them.

We hope you like this change and we have big plans for utilising these contacts much more in future.

This sounds really useful - I have been using Cliniko for 1 month, and it's great!

Joel. We have been putting contact info into the patients section. Is there a way to cut and paste from patient to contact. Maybe I could download all to CSV format and import the ones I need. Any suggestions. Regards. Terry

p.s. well done with the progress.

    Great work Joel,

    I can't see a "company name" cell.

Would need this when writing letters.

    Eg. "John Doe"

    "Pay Little Insurance Company"

Would be handy to also have cells for company email and phone & direct contact details for listed contact.

Also in patient details, insurances companies require claims Number of patient on all correspondence. Is it possible to add this to patients details and an option to insert this as a place holder for letters etc.

    Cheers, Tyraus

    @Debbie, great to hear thanks!

@Terry, there is no easy way to do that unfortunately.  We don't have an import for contacts.

@Tyraus, I will get a company field added.  I am not sure yet about separate contact information for company vs. person though.  Can you give me a bit more info about how you would use that?  Regarding claim number, we have the extra invoice information, does that do the job for you?

    Hi Joel,

The main thing with the claim number is that it can be included in the correspondence to contacts as most insurance companies use it as the identifier for claimants.

In terms of contact numbers, most insurance companies will have there general contact number and a direct line to claims officers. Just good to list both.

    Regards,

    Tyraus

Hi Joel, Looking good. I currently find it useful to have a contacts 'type'. For example GP, gyms, insurance company, local business, etc; and can user-define what they are. This is useful for marketing purposes, sending letter specific to these groups, special offers etc. and also just to reduce down the numbers of contacts you have to look through to browse.

In addition family connections is something I don't have but would find really handy. To be able to bill a parent for a child's treatment, or put all the invoices for a group of people (employees of one company, or members of a family) onto one invoice. Also to be able to spot when 2 people are no longer connected -  *singing* D.I.V.O.R.C.E - so that I don't put my size sixes in it!

A category is something we are looking at adding.  Family billing too!

It would be great if people could have a look at the discussion going here https://support.cliniko.com/entries/21557658-Business-Contacts-Section and give your thoughts.

Hi Joel, It looks like you've been busy - I still haven't committed to a new database and it looks like Cliniko is catching up in the areas I was concerned about. Any idea of an ETA on the contacts categories?

    We have been busy :)

I don't know yet about the categories, we're kind of head down on the current features in progress.  If you ask again in about 6 weeks I should have a better idea.
