New communications feature

We have just released a new communications feature in Cliniko.  You can find this under the new tab called "Communications".

Currently this will just display a list of all communications sent and received by Cliniko.  This includes:

  • Appointment Reminders (SMS and Email)
  • Appointment Reminder Replies (SMS)
  • Invoices Sent (Email)
  • Appointment Confirmations (Email)
It will show a history of all of these and be searchable by patient name as well.  If you want to find "failed" ones, just type "failed" in the search box.

You can also view communications for a single patient right from their page:

As a part of this change, we are now tracking invoices that have been sent by email.  Again you can see this by going to the patient and clicking the communications option on the left.

This change is just the beginning for a lot of communications changes we have planned, these include:

  • Letter writing
  • Bulk SMS
  • Single SMS sending
  • Appointment confirmation emails for all appointments, not just online bookings (including an attached calendar file)

    I want to add my own communications, such as when someone calls to get a prescription refilled or to ask a medical question.  The only othr way I can think of doing this is to create an appointment when I want to record a phone call or other communication.

    We use a treatment note on the patients file and list who contacted us, whether in person, letter, fax, phone etc. who in our office took the intial contact and what the issue is, we then list the action taken and any follow up required.  Attached to patient file.  Works well for us.

    Hi Heron, it just shows recent ones, they'll get replaced when new ones come in.

    Hi being able to check that an invoice has sent by checking the communications tab is very helpful but it would be so much easier if it was an icon next to the invoice in the invoices tab so that I can see at a glance what has and hasn't been sent rather than having to go through each client individually. Any chance of this in the future?
