Millions of appointment colors and some other stuff

Apparently our previous offering of 12 colors to choose from for your appointments wasn't enough... well now you can choose from millions! There are some other neat minor changes too.

Millions of appointment colors!

We have changed the way you can choose colors for your appointments. We now have a very flexible color picker so that you can choose any hue, any lightness and any saturation that you like (yes we learned more about colors than we wanted to). Basically you can now choose from millions of colors. When you next edit an appointment type, you will be presented with this fancy thing:

If you choose a dark color, the text of the appointment will be almost white so that it contrasts well. If you choose a light color, the text will be a very dark version of the selected color.

For those of you with many appointment types, and also those with vision impairment, this should let you set up your calendar in a much better way.

Remember: Just because you can now use every fluoro color available, it doesn't mean you should!

Delete treatment notes

Administrators can now delete treatment notes. This is permanent, so be careful using this feature. You will get prompted to confirm before deleting.

Some minor bugs were fixed too

A few minor bugs were also resolved in this release:

- The SMS sent flag is removed when you change the date or time of an appointment. This is for scenario's where the SMS reminder goes out, and then the patient reschedules to a later date. This will ensure they get reminded again.

- The date picker to the left of the appointment calendar would get "out of sync" with the main calendar when using the main calendar navigation. This has been resolved.

I'm not sure if a million colours is enough... :-)

    Thanks for the updates!!

Hey man would be cool to able to add an "edit" link right next to the "delete" link!!! Sometimes you remember something AFTER you've hit save, but then you don;t want to necessarily DELETE the whole thing.. :-)

At the moment we don't have an edit because of the need to preserve your notes in case of legal matters. We are currently running a poll on our facebook page about this very topic http://www.facebook.com/cliniko.

I am not sure yet what our solution will be, but it's looking like some comprehensive version control where we allow edits, but track all iterations of the note.

Millions of colours are great, unless you need consistency.

I've chosen a dark shade for first appointment and a lighter shade for the same type of standard appointment of different durations; and there are 3 categories, so three distinct from each other colours were selected. Except that every appointment type (about 4-5 per category) is a slightly different shade because I can't reproduce the same colour.

Also until I go back to the appointment types page, I have no clear indication of the actual colour chosen (the tiny circle is inadequate).

A separate preview of the selected colour and ability to copy it would be awesome (or reproduce the RGB values or similar). If possible, maybe add a palate for recently used colours.

Great suggestions. We could show the color code and let you enter that instead.

A preview swatch & colour code works for me - thanks!

Or magnify the cursor position to better show the selected colour.

Colour code would be preferable for me too - we have the 'same' colour for each insurance company but then have separate appointment types for initial assessments and regular treatments.  Trying to get exactly the same colour with the current selector is a game of guesswork.  colour codes would make life much easier.
